Mary Kubran Fuller of Harrison, New York, died Friday, October 26, 2007, at the Osborn Home in Rye, New York. A Harrison resident for 63 years, she was 95. Mrs. Fuller was born on January 19, 1912 in Piermont, Rockland County, New York, to Stefan Michael Kubran and Eva Ralbovsky Kubran. She was the second of eight children. Mrs. Fuller graduated from Tappan Zee High School in Piermont in 1927 and attended Albany State College (1928-1932) where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Commerce. She taught in Narrowsburg, New York (1932-1933) and in Massena, New York (1933-1935). She married Paul Fuller on October 7, 1934 in Constable, New York, and had to retire from teaching in 1935 due to a rule that prohibited married female teachers. In addition to being a homemaker, she subsequently substituted in schools in the New York towns of Rye, Rye Neck, Mamaroneck, and Harrison. She was a member of the Harrison Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. Mrs. Fuller is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Harmon of Paradise, California; two sons, John Paul Fuller of Arlington, Virginia, and Robert Charles Fuller who, with his wife Susan, lives in Harrison, New York; two sisters, Margaret Furey of Nyack, New York, and Lillian DeVoe of Garnerville, New York; four grandchildren, Sharon Joyner of Tampa, Florida, Glenn Strauber of Crofton, Maryland, Pamela Fuller of Harrison, New York, and Alexandra Fuller of Harrison, New York; and three great-grandchildren, Starr Pegram, Shanna Joyner, and James Joyner. Her husband, Paul, predeceased her in 1981. Calling hours are from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Harrison Funeral Home, Harrison, New York on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.
