David Warren Hafer died Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 after a sudden heart attack while enroute home from a concert in New York City. David was born in New York City was brought up in Washington Heights and in Tappan, NY. He attended Tappan Grammar School and then Tappan Zee High School, where his mural adorned the entrance hall for several years. He was a graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Art History. A life-long music fan, David befriended several musicians who were active in New York City's jazz scene and made recordings of their performances. David was List Manager of Metro Direct, supplying promotional needs of cultural institutions such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, The Joyce and many others. Most recently he worked for Ethnic Technologies in S. Hackensack, NJ. David is survived by his father, Warren W. Hafer, Jr. and a brother, Brian Edward. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 11 AM at the Tappan Reformed Church in Tappan with burial to follow at the Tappan Reformed Church Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tappan Reformed Church, 32 Old Tappan Road, Tappan, NY 10983.
