Steffen Bednarek, 41, of Chester entered into rest on May 25, 2003 at Arden Hill Hospital. He was a machinist for Cutwell Diamond Products. He lived in Chester for five years, and had lived in Rockland County for 30 years. The son of Adolph and Rita Kammin Bednarek, he was born on June 27, 1961, in Germany. He was a graduate of Tappan Zee High School, Class of 1979; a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Harmony Lodge in Sparkill, NY; and a bartender at the Last Chance Saloon in Congers. He loved photography and summer weekends on Fire Island. He is survived by his parents, Adolph and Rita of Brookville, FL; two brothers, Jeff and his wife Carol Bednarek of Spring Valley, and Rodney and his wife Denise Bednarek of New Windsor, NY; and nephew Justin Bednarek of New Windsor. A Memorial Service will be on Sunday, June 1, 2003, at 2 PM at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Central Nyack, NY. Cremation will be private.
