Life After Tappan Zee
Thomas VreelandI grew up on Route 340 in Palisades.where I resided until 1967.After graduation I attended Kentucky Wesleyan College,where I met my wife Becky Campbell and we were married in 1967.Shortly after our marriage, we relocated to Hackensack,New Jersey,where we lived for 3 years and our first 2 children were born,TomJr.(d.b.1968)&Adam(d.b.1970).
In 1970 we relocated to Greenville, Kentucky, where we owned and Becky operated a clothing store until 1992.In 1973,I graduated from Murray State Univ.with B.S.(Criminology)&M.A.(Counseling) and began a 27 year career in Kentucky state government…the last 20 years as a director of a community based program for delinquent offenders. In 1973 our third son was born,Jonathan and a daughter was born in 1992,Mary Katherine.In 2000.
I retired from my position with the state and relocated to Northern Ky.where all my sons reside and commenced employment with the Campbell County school system.The first 5 years as a a director of juvenile justice programs and the last 3 years as a social worker/counselor with At-Risk youth.InJuly/2008,I retired from the school system.The past 4 months, I have become involved on advisory boards for programs with At-Risk youth and have been doing some voluntary consultant,traveling and resmed playing golf.
