Life After Tappan Zee

If I had stayed at TZHS I would have graduated with my class in 1956.

As it turned out, my family moved to Lynwood, California (L.A. Area) right before my senior year. It was quite a shock. I went from having 300 students in my whole school to having 300 classmates in my senior class! I was very homesick and lonely. I did enjoy the marching band I played in, however.

I met my future husband a month before I graduated. He had recently moved to L.A. from Texas. We were both 18 when we married a year later. Before I turned 21, I had Robin and Randy. Rebecca came along 4 years later. Three fantastic kids who have given me 10 fabulous grandkids...ages 6 to 24. They bring me great joy...can't wait for "greats" to come along.

I was fortunate enough to be able to be a stay at home mom. My husband was a California Highway Patrolman for 30 years and worked mostly odd shifts and most holidays. We grew used to it after a while. In 1970, we transferred to Palo Cedro, California, near Redding in Northern California It was a move back to the country, almost like the Tappan of my childhood. We raised our own beef, kids had horses, motorcycles, etc.

My marriage ended after 26 years and I have been on my own for 20 years. Where has the time gone? I am recently retired and would love to reconnect with old friends. I wonder if anyone even remembers me? Thank you, Doris and Tom for sending me the information on this website, this could be fun... come on, everyone, send in those "bios!"
