Life After Tappan Zee
Joyce HardyI left TZ in my senior year, and got married and had a daughter Robin who is now 44 years old. I divorced in 1961 and returned home to help take care of my invalid mother. When my father retired in 1969, I went to work at Shop-Rite in Pearl River at various jobs. In 1970 I went to work Materials Research Corp in Orangeburg as a supervisor in the ceramic division.
In 1974 I married Bob Edwards and in 1982 we moved to West Fulton, NY in Schoharie county, which is about 50 miles west of Albany. After moving there I went to work for Storyhouse Corp., a book binding company, in the shipping and receiving dept. as a manager. I left there in 1985 to again care for my invalid mother, and I continued to care for her until she passed away in 1993.
I enjoy spending as much time with our grandchildren and our great grandson as possible. I still have a passion for reading and enjoy doing gardening and yard work.
