After graduating from the University of Arizona, I taught Physical Education, and coached softball and basketball at Villa Carondelet High School, a private catholic high school for girls in Tucson, Arizona. I received my master's degree in health education at the University of Arizona in 1969, and relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado to teach health and physical education classes, and also to coach gymnastics at Colorado State University. In 1976 I was accepted into the doctoral program in the College of HPERD at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1978, I met my husband Thomas, and we were married in 1979. We have no children. I received my doctorate (Ed.D.) in Health Education in 1982, and was an Assistant Professor (adjunct) at the Temple Univ. Ambler Campus for two years. From 1984-1992, I was on the Health Education faculty (adjunct) at the Penn State Ogontz Campus. From 1989-1999, we owned a coin laundry, which I managed. In 1992, my Mom (who was is poor health) came to live with us, and I took care of her until her death in 2002. I am currently doing secretarial and administrative work for my husband's construction company. I am also a volunteer at the Southern Ocean County Hospital Thrift Shop in Manahawkin, N.J.
